5 out of 5 stars Great Product   December 7, 2008
Thiss Shaving Cream Is By Far The Best Get A Close Shave Yu Might Think Itz To Pricey For A Shaving Cream But Well Worth IT!!

5 out of 5 stars A new lifelong user. This is all you want to use.   December 2, 2008
It's easy to see why Proaso is a staple in the barbershops and bathrooms of Italy. It's a no-frills product that delivers a quality that makes the cans of smelly foam sold in America look absolutely cheap in comparison.

Even if you prefer to use the current mult-bladed razors, this product is a quality investment that will leave your skin much healthier, and also cut down on trips to the shaving aisle at the store. A small amount, worked into a lather with a bit of hot water, provides a perfect medium for shaving. The product is not sticky, oily, or smelly. It's a very referehsing, cool experience that softens the hair of the beard and allows for a very nice shave. A little goes a long way, and I like the fact the product is packaged in a sqeezable tube, which saves a lot of room in the overnight kit when traveling.

Give this product a try, and you'll be hooked.

4 out of 5 stars First time using shaving cream with a brush   October 19, 2008
After a lifetime of using shaving cream out of a can, I decided to try this product. After reviewing some instructional videos on youtube, I have found that making my own shaving cream takes only a few minutes. I had originally bought a very cheap shaving brush (about $4) and did find a better quality brush worked better, I spent about $13 for my new badger hair brush. I have found my face doesn't dry out as much with the tube shaving cream and I get a closer shave.

5 out of 5 stars Makes you wonder why it's not sold everywhere...   June 6, 2008

Maybe it's the Italian name that makes it difficult to market to the masses (it's available at Bath and Bodyworks as a re-packaged CO Bigelow product). In any event, no living, breathing man should be denied the opportunity to indulge in this superb shaving product.

Though it might not get the kind of enthusiastic endorsement reserved for the higher-end English made creams from the discerning wet shaver/hobbyist crowd (shave geeks), Proraso is a quantum leap in quality compared to the canned stuff on the drug store shelf. For the uninitiated, a tube of Proraso cream is an excellent first step in the journey toward a vastly improved shaving experience.

Aside from the luxurious, cushioning lather one can make using a decent badger hair shaving brush (highly recommended), Proraso's strength is also its drawback. The cooling, tingling sensation of menthol and eucalyptus oil is a pleasurable experience for many, but harsh for those with highly sensitive skin (and noses). So be forewarned if you think you may fall into the latter category. Being in the former category, my experience with Proraso has been like a dream come true. Where Proraso really shines, though, is in the post shave; the moment after the last bit of lather has been rinsed away. A cold water rinse follow-up truly ramps up the invigorating pleasure of this cream...a bracing wake up call for those groggy, early morning shaves.

I disagree with the reviewer that said this cream is too expensive. If used correctly (with a shave brush), a pea-sized amount is all that's needed to produce an abundant lather. Nevertheless, the benefits of this highly recommended product far outweigh its cost.

5 out of 5 stars Very soothing   May 2, 2008
I love this shaving cream. I agree with another reviewer, I don't need pre-shave oil or after shave lotion using this cream. It also smells great. A little goes a long way, just a dab is usually enough for me.
